POST FALLS, IDAHO – August 4, 2006 – The list of drivers entering this year's NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 at Stateline Speedway picked up pace late Thursday night. The three-day festival of Late Model racing will combine drivers from four western states, and Canada. Five different western stock series will be represented this weekend including the Rocky Mountain and Northwest Late Model Challenges Series. Inland Northwest Super Stock Series, The Northwest Tour (Brandon Riehl) and the North State Challenge Series with Canada’s Darrell Midgley.
Boring, Ore. NASCAR Northwest, Midwest, and Southwest winner Brandon Riehl will enter Sunday's NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 in the #69 team car to Kevin Richards (LMCS Duel) and Don Williams (INSSA Duel). Riehl will try to race his way in on Sunday after the Northwest Tour 200 race at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Late Thursday evening 2000 Idaho 200 winner Tom Sweatman entered into Friday’s INSSA Duel and Sunday’s 200 race with intentions on running the LMCS Duel if things go well Firday nights. Sweatman has suffered bad luck over the last five races with motor problems.
Friday morning Chad Cannon and Jentry Pisca of the NAPA Auto Parts Rocky Mountain Challenge Series entered into the weekend's events. Cannon won at Meridian this spring and will run Sunday. Pisca will test the waters over the weekend likely running Friday night and possibly Sunday if things run smooth Friday. Both have solid finishes at Meridian and Magic Valley Speedway.
Ephrata’s Christian Roeder will try to lock themselves into the 200 in the Friday night duel. Also joining the Idaho 200 entry list is Dan Garber and Jeff Little. Montana’s Bodie Morton will run in Saturday night’s LMCS Duel
Racing begins tonight at 7:30 with the INSSA Duel for the 200. The top six finishers will be locked into Sunday’s NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200. Also scheduled are Hobby Cars and Early Stocks.
On Saturday night, the Late Model Challenge Series rolls into town with point’s leader Troy Conrad and Spokane’s Shelby Thompson competing in the 100-lap Duel for the 200 qualifier and series point’s race for the tour. Qualifying starts at 6pm., Northwest Pro 4 Trucks and Outlaw Compacts will also be in action.
Fireworks following Friday and Saturday events are also scheduled.
Events for the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 start on Sunday at 1pm with qualifying and followed by drivers from both series combined with top Late Model and Super Stock drivers from the Northwest competing for the 2006 NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 title.
Tickets are on sale now at the race day ticket booth for the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 weekend, August 4,5,6, featuring a combination of the regions top drivers late model competition. Advance tickets for all three days including Friday and Saturday night’s fireworks are $45. Kids under six years of age are free all weekend long.
