2010 Road Runner Rules

RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herin are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements of such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death of a participant, spectator, or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit minor deviations from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

ROAD RUNNERS 1. Any four‐cylinder passenger car that came from the factory with seating capacity for at least 4 persons and a maximum of one hundred one (101”) inches wheelbase may be used. Engines must remain untouched/stock and remain in stock location. Rotary engines, dual overhead‐cam, turbos and 4 wheel drive/all wheel drives are not allowed. Carburetors must remain stock. No Spoilers Allowed.
2. Remove the carpet, head liner, door panels, and all mirrors except outside drivers side mirror and all seats except driver’s seat. Leave dash intact. Remove head and tail light glass, and all window glass except windshield. (2007 Point Standing Cars are grandfathered. All others must meet dash and seat requirements)
3. Tires must be of stock DOT type/size for the car you are racing and have tread showing across the complete face of the tire, however, shall be no wider than six inches (6”) new or six and one‐half inches (6.5”) used, and shall not extend beyond the body, NO RE‐CAPS or RACING TIRES. (New or used) All four tires and wheels must be the same size, except right front rubber may be one size bigger. Wheels are to be a maximum of six inches wide, no offset wheels. All camber shall be three‐fourths of one‐inch (3/4”) Maximum. Ride Height minimum five (5”) inches.
4. No trimming of body panels allowed without tech personnel approval. NO ANTI FREEZE in cooling systems. Cars should be brightly painted (try to avoid dark colors!) Cars numbers are allocated by the track and are on a first come first serve basis. NO LETTERS OR OTHER SYMBOLS and no more than two NUMERALS. (No roman numbers.) A) No alterations to the motor may be made, must remain stock with all air cleaners, breathers and attachments intact. B. CAR NUMBERS: Driver must be Stateline member in this class and car must be registered in this class. Car numbers must be neat appearing, in contrasting colors, 24 inches high, 3 inches wide. On both doors and roof. Six inch (6") minimum number on upper windshield, passenger side or you will not run. SAFETY/CONSTRUCTION RULES
5. A fully charged dry chemical or halon fire extinguisher must be mounted inside the car within reach of the driver.
6. WINDOW NETS ARE REQUIRED! Drivers must wear a clean, up to date, (No holes, No tear) fire resistant, double layer firesuit on track at all times. It is required to wear a minimum Snell 2000 rated approved racing helmet at all times on the race track. A racing approved up to date seat belt, full shoulder harness, window‐net and headrest, fire gloves and shoes are required. Neck brace, restraints recommended. All suits and helmets will be inspected for wear.
7. Un‐Caged Must have Outside door bar. Install a minimum of 6” x 3/8” steel plate, (no grader blades), located in the center of the driver’s door to extend a minimum of 12” in the front and rear. Round off the outer corners. Bar to be bolted with a minimum of ½” stove bolts with a 6” square backing plate. Minimum 4 bolts. – Additional bars may be required by tech or promoter after initial inspection for safety.
8. Upright pipe of at least 2” O.D. between floor and roof behind driver. Both ends of upright must be at least 6” x 6” x ¼”. Minimum of four ½” bolts on each end. A minimum of 2” O.D. pipe crossbar must run from the door bar to the opposite of the car, this pipe must be attached to both of the upright and the door bar. 9. Car running electric fuel pumps MUST mount a clearly marked on/off switch within 6 inches of the driver’s door. Driver must be able to reach switch when securely fastened in with seat belt. A brightly painted, solid square of at least 4 inches square must surround the switch. STATELINE SPEEDWAY
10. All Seats to be securely fastened to the floor. The back of the seat to be securely fastened to the roll bars. A padded area must be directly behind the drivers head on the roll bar(s). Seat should not be able to move in any direction. Racing seats are recommended. All seats subject to tech approval.
11. Gas tanks shall have a minimum of two additional metal straps holding them in place besides the factory ones and subject to tech approval.
12. Battery to remain in stock location and securely fastened, or if moved must be located behind driver in battery box securely fastened, covered and fastened in two ways, with one seat belt each way. The seat belt end must be bolted to floor of the car. No milk crates, wooden boxes, etc. will be allowed. Subject to tech man’s approval.
13. Hood latch MUST be removed and a minimum of two hood pins to be used to retain hood. You may remove the hinges, but MAY NOT trim hood or attempt to “lighten” hood. Drivelines must be painted white. Driveline must have a metal strap or chained loop maximum 12” behind front u‐joint.
14. Other than transponders, race cars will not be permitted to carry ANY onboard computers, micro‐controlled processors, recording devices, cell phones, electronic memory chips, digital readout gauges or traction control devices without prior management approval.
15. Mufflers must be securely fastened and in working order. Loud mufflers will not be tolerated, ninety‐five decibels at one hundred feet (95 Db at 100’). All exhaust must be muffled in stock location, exhaust must extend of 3 feet past the muffler, and exit underneath the car behind driver downward. THE INTENT OF THIS CLASS IS TO BE A BEGINNER AND ENTRY LEVEL DIVISION. FOR LEARNING AND FUN. NO TOLERANCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO DO NOT COMPETE TO THE SPIRIT OF THIS CLASS. AFTER TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS YOU ARE TO BE CONGRATULATED, HOWEVER, YOU MUST MOVE TO ANOTHER CLASS. CLAIMS Be advised all cars are subject to claim at every race date for $450.00, by the promoters, and may be purchased for promotional purposes. If the claim is refused the car and driver will be banned from running the class for one calendar year. |
