2010 Fever 4 Rules

RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The rules and/or regulations set forth herin are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements of such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATION OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death of a participant, spectator, or official.
The race director shall be empowered to permit minor deviations from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

RWD FEVER4’s COMPACT CONSTRUCTION RULES Any one hundred one (101”) inch wheel base maximum four (4) passenger sedan type car, rear wheel drive, foreign or domestic, and equipped with a four (4) cylinder carbureted engine, with a 2480cc maximum. All cars shall be brightly painted and maintained in a neat manner. Primer is not acceptable as paint. Dents are to be kept to a minimum. 1 A. WEIGHT: Minimum weight two thousand, three hundred and fifty pounds (2,350 lbs.) with driver and gear. Also ONE (1)lbs per CC if your engine is greater than 2300cc. 56% left side max. B. CAR NUMBERS: Driver must be Stateline member in this class and the car must be registered in this class. Car numbers must be neat appearing, in contrasting colors, 24 inches high, 3 inches wide. On both doors and roof. Six inch (6”) minimum number on upper windshield, passenger side or you will not run.
2. Any four (4) cylinder passenger car automotive engines GM to GM, Ford to Ford, Toyota to Toyota etc. No porting or polishing. All heads must be OEM and have OEM part number casting. No machining , sanding acid dipping or gasket matching of intake ports, exhaust ports, lifter bores or intake manifolds. Camshaft being used is optional but must use stock lifters, Rocker arms or followers for engine being used. No Roller rockers or followers allowed.
3. Any stock transmission three (3) speed, four (4) speed, five (5) speed, or automatic, Ford to Ford, GM to GM, Toyota to Toyota, etc. Clutch plate and flywheel assembly will be stock Ford to Ford, GM to GM, Toyota to Toyota etc. No aftermarket, racing Flywheels. Flywheels may NOT be lightened. Must be a stock steel flywheel with no milling. No aluminum flywheels.
4. All heads, intake and exhaust manifolds will be stock for the passenger car engine used. Heads may have minimum milling for compression. No dual overhead cams. Adjustable cam gears ok. No rotary or rear engine cars.
5. Stock cast iron OEM exhaust manifolds. Stock OEM intake manifold. No machining. A) Carburetor adapters OK ‐ one inch (1") maximum. Holley Carburetor not to exceed one two (2) barrel five hundred cfm (500 cfm) maximum. No Webber, or sidedrafts carburetors allowed. Air cleaner required. No side drafts, no blowers, no injectors, no nitrous, and no turbos.
6. Any coil type battery ignition. No magnetos. Battery must be strapped both ways. A marked kill switch must be accessible from the driver’s side window.
7. Any rear end in any car but must use stock mounts per car used and must be bolted in stock location. Weight jacks allowed, jacks cannot be changed after passing thru tech. Locked rear ends optional. No quick change, Detroit lockers or floaters rear ends.
8. Pump, or racing gas only. No exotic fuels, such as nitrous and methanol.
9. Caster and Camber must be within one and three‐quarters (1 3/4”) inch of neutral. Struts must be maintained in stock location with allowance for reasonable adjustment within one inch (1") torching or cutting of springs, use of lowering blocks optional. Stock suspension, coil to coil, leaf to leaf, torsion bar to torsion bar. ALL cars shall have accessible tow hooks front and rear. No aftermarket accessories, except weight jacks. Ride height will be four and one‐quarter (4 1/4”) inches minimum. A) Strut stabilizer are allowed. Shall be made of no more than one inch (1”) material. A vertical bar may be used from the frame to the back or top of the strut tower on each strut. A horizontal stabilizer between these bars may also be used.
10. Outside auto bodies to remain stock with floor pan used. No wings allowed. Maximum 4” Spoiler. You may trim inner and outer fender panels for reasonable tire clearance. No fiberglass parts unless OEM, except nose trim and hood. A) Original stock floor pan and frames will be maintained. Front firewall will remain stock. Front firewall holes must be patched with steel. B) All exhaust must be muffled and meet tracks decibel requirements, in stock location and exit underneath the car behind driver, parallel to frame, No exhaust outside frame rails. No exhaust pipes above floorboard. Exhaust must extend a minimum of 3 feet past the muffler. Also see Rule 21. C) Gutting of interior flammable material is required. D) Hoods must have hood pins only, NO BOLTS!
11. Fuel cells required, and must be securely fastened, and encased in 20 gauge steel. All cars with electric fuel pump must have a main kill switch. Switch is to be mounted on the center of the dash, inside a four inch by six inch (4" X 6") bright yellow area with easy to read on and off instruction. A) The bottom of the fuel cell must be above the bottom of the rear bumper and be a minimum of twelve inches (12") from back bumper and mounted securely, subject to tech approval. B) The filler neck must not protrude from the body shell. C) Fuel cell shall not be in driver’s compartment. D) No fuel pumps in driver’s compartment. E) Any fuel lines through driver’s compartment must be surrounded in metal pipe or conduit with no connections. All cars must have a steel firewall between driver and the fuel cell. Driver’s compartment must be sealed. Battery is to be securely fastened either in engine compartment or passenger side floor board, or behind driver seat, subject to tech approval. Trunk floor shall have a cut out for adequate drainage for trapped fuel.
12. Full windshield is required, with clips and center strap.
13. Doors must be bolted or welded, No metal or protruding bolts on outside of body. Roll cage: Roll bars are required and must be of at least one and one‐half inches (1˝”) O.D. round steel pipe, one‐eighth inch (1/8") wall thickness, one and one‐half inches (1˝") by ninety‐five hundredths (.095) wall thickness on tubing. All cages must be constructed of good quality material with neat appearing welds and gussets. No screw couplings allowed. Roll bars must be welded or securely fastened inside the car to the floor pan and braced on the rear main bar. All roll bars have to have three (3) sissy bars on the driver’s side connected with three (3) vertical bars in the center, with a minimum of two (2) sissy bars on the passenger side. Center roof bar optional. All cars must have a rear safety bar attached to the main cage to protect gas tank. The right hand side of the roll cage cannot come over any farther to the left than the right side frame rail. Right of the cage must be vertical and parallel to the frame. Front Hoop: One and one‐half (1”˝”) material maximum. Hoop is subject to tech approval. No bumper reinforcement.
14. Radiators must have a one gallon metal catch can securely fastened or be run into the exhaust no further than three inches (3") from manifold. Excessive water dumping will be cause for the black flag. Radiator must be in stock location. No anti‐freeze allowed.
15. Aluminum racing seat only, no fiberglass of plastic seats.
16. Safety belts are required and must be up to date be of racing approved three inch (3") wide lap belt and two inch (2") wide shoulder harness. Safety belts must be securely fastened to roll cage. Five (5) point harness recommended. Window nets are required. See General Rules for Current Date information. Also see rule 24.
17. All open drive lines will have a metal strap or chain loop twelve inches (12") behind front universal. Strap or chain must not exceed three inches (3") below the drive line. A one hundred and eighty (180) degree scatter shield is required on all cars and must be located underneath the car between the bell housing and the floorboards. Scatter shield must start at the back of the block and extend a minimum of twelve inches (12") back over bell housing. Reinforced belt material is acceptable three‐eighths inch (3/8") minimum thickness. Drive line to be painted white for safety.
18. Bumpers must be both front and rear, and in stock location. The bumpers must be securely fastened and bolted to the quarter panels with two inch (2") metal straps. Cars must have neat appearing grills. Aftermarket plastic bumper covers allowed.
19. Cars must have a minimum of three (3) wheel brakes in working order, and must stop in a reasonable distance. If locked rear end, you may remove Right‐Rear only, however must have three (3) working breaks minimum.
20. Stateline Speedway Approved tires ONLY! See approved list. Wheel width seven inch (7") maximum. Tires must be run as from manufacturer, no softening, additives or any adulteration.
21. Mufflers must be securely fastened and in working order. Loud mufflers will not be tolerated, ninety‐five decibels at one hundred feet (95 Db at 100’). All exhaust must be muffled in stock location, exhaust must extend of 3 feet past the muffler, and exit underneath the car behind driver downward.
22. Safety approved racing wheels or aluminum wheels on right side are required. Seven inch (7") steel or aluminum width maximum. – No tires to extend outside the body of the left side of the car, one (1”) inch maximum allowed on the right side.
23. A fully charged, operable, dry chemical, CO2, or Halon, two pound (2 Lb.) minimum fire extinguisher is required.
24. Drivers must wear a clean, up to date, (No holes, No tear) fire resistant, double layer firesuit on track at all times. It is required to wear a minimum Snell 2000 rated approved racing helmet at all times on the race track. A racing approved up to date seat belt, full shoulder harness, window‐net and headrest, fire gloves and shoes are required. Neck brace, restraints recommended. All suits and helmets will be inspected for wear.
25. Other than transponders race cars will not be permitted to carry ANY onboard computers, micro‐controlled processors, recording devices, cell phones, electronic memory chips, digital readout gauges or traction control devices without prior management approval.
26. All cars to be self‐starting, and may only run one class per days event and may only run in the “Fever 4 class.”
